ALSTOM has been ever
increasingly present in Egypt since the early 1930's. Through its Power &
Transport sectors and its international and local partners, ALSTOM has
contributed to the development of Egypt's infrastructure in a significant way.
To name a few projects, the following references speak for themselves:
- Abu Qir Power Plant (4 x 150 MW + 1 X 300 MW STGs), on turn-key basis.
- Power Plant Equipment for Sidi Krir (2 x 350 MW STGs), Suez (1 x 100 MW
STG), Damietta Combined Cycle Power Plant and EdF's BOOT Power Plants.
- Cairo Metro Line 1 & 2 for which ALSTOM Transport sector
delivered the Rolling Stock (Line 1), Signalling & Centralized Control
Equipment and Products & Services for the electromechanical scope on
turn-key basis.
- Shunting Locomotives for the Egyptian National Railways (ENR). Signalling
Systems on ENR's main lines of Cairo-Alexandria and Upper Egypt.
- Pumping stations in Wadi El Nuqra, Kom Ombo, Sinai and Lock Gates in
Damietta.
In the framework of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company's current five
year fast-track program 2002-2007 to add 4500 MW to the unified grid, serving
industrial development and satisfying increasing household demand on
electricity, ALSTOM Power Sector has been awarded contracts for the
following Combined Cycle Power Plants: Nubareya (4 Heat Recovery Steam
Generators as well as the Plant Distributed Control System); Cairo North II and
New Talkha (2 x 250 MW Steam Turbine Generators).
ALSTOM Power Service Sector is currently executing the contract for the
supply of Steam Turbine and Generators Spare parts and Site Overhaul
Supervision on Abu Qir Power Plant for which it has also been awarded, in 2004,
the Rehabilitation of 4 Generator Retrofits.
ALSTOM Transport Sector signed with Cairo Metro Organization the
contract for the Maintenance of Signalling Driving Modes Centralized Control
Equipment for Metro Line 2. The Company is also currently executing the
Maintenance of Traffic Centralized Control Systems and Traction/Energy
Centralized Control Systems of Cairo Metro Line 1.
Through ALSTOM Egypt for Power & Transport Projects SAE and
ALSTOM Transport Egypt Branch, we continuously strive to increase our
local added value, by transferring know-how and technology from our main
competence centres all over the world . |
