Project Chronology
  • October 1996 : Inauguration and timely putting into service of the first section of Phase 1 of Line 2 from Shubra el Kheima to Mubarak station.
  • October 1997 : Inauguration and timely putting into service of the completed Phase 1 of Line 2 up to Sadat station.
  • April 1999 : Inauguration and putting into service 8 months ahead of schedule of the Phase 2A up to Cairo University station.
  • October 2000: Inauguration and putting into service 2 months ahead of schedule of the Phase 2B up to Giza Suburban station.

Activity/Competencies (SYS)
ALSTOM Transport SYS in Egypt is in charge of the execution of Transport Mass Transit activities in the field of electricity, electronics, communication, energy engineering related to the above mentioned activities, as well as the execution of erection works, testing and commissioning, maintenance, repair services and training for the different type of equipment and installation related to these activities.
