PS Egypt and PS Italy
recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cairo Electricity
Production Co. (CEPC), covering pressure parts replacement for boiler units
installed in power stations operated by CEPC and others (utility power
companies or industrial clients).

CEPC has a large workshop in
Cairo and has good capabilities in manufacturing pressure parts. PS Egypt has
excellent site support skills and capabilities, and PS Italy possesses the
technology and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
To best use these competencies, it has been agreed in the first instance to
initiate a pilot project, where CEPC, in co-operation with PS Egypt and PS
Italy, will manufacture the reheater coils of boiler unit 1, at the Cairo West
87.5 MW Power Station. Upon completion of this project, all parties will then
decide on future cooperation and procedures.
The memorandum is also an expression of Power Serviceâs
ongoing efforts to strengthen LSCs and local value added capabilities.
CEPC is an affiliate of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co. and has five power
plants producing 20% of the total energy generated in Egypt. |
