Typical Horizontal HRSG with three pressure levels and reheat
ALSTOM wins contract to supply four Heat Recovery Steam Generators in Egypt
28/01/2004

ALSTOM signed on 28/01/04 a contract with West Delta Electricity Production Company to supply four Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) for the Nubareya Combined Cycle Power Station I & II, located at El-Beheira.

ALSTOM will be responsible for the supply, delivery and erection of four HRSGs behind Siemens Westinghouse V94.3(A) gas turbines.

The HRSGs are ALSTOM's OCCTM design (Optimised for Cycling and Constructability) with three pressure levels and reheat.

To optimise local transportation and erection capabilities the pressure parts are being built and shipped as loose harps.

A significant portion of the manufacturing and erection is subcontracted to DSD Ferrometalco SAE, a major manufacturing and construction company located in Cairo.

Ferrometalco will manufacture IP and LP drums, deaerator, harps, structural steel, stacks, platforms and ladders, and inlet ducts; and also perform the erection of the equipment.

The formal contract signing was attended by Minister of Electricity & Energy, Dr. Hassan Younes; The Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, Dr. Mohamed Awad; and the Chairman of the West Delta Electricity Production Company, Eng. Samir Zazouh.

The power plant, when completed, will have a total electrical output of 1500 MW and will provide much needed power to the local community.

These will be the first HRSG units supplied by ALSTOM in Egypt
