Another 250 MW Steam Turbine Generator for New
Talkha 750 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant

ALSTOM and the Spanish INITEC Tecnologia S.A. consortium was awarded the
USD 43.7 Mn contract for the supply and installation of the 250 MW Steam
Turbine Generator & Auxiliaries package of New Talkha 750 MW Combined Cycle
Power Plant. The contract was signed on 17/05/2005 . The ceremony was attended
by Minister of Electricity & Energy, Dr. Hassan Younes; Chairman of the
Egyptian Electricity Holding Company "EEHC", Dr. Mohamed Awad and by
Chairman of the East Delta Electricity Production Company, Eng. Mohamed
HASSAN.
This is the second 250 MW Steam Turbine and Auxiliaries package awarded to the
same consortium. Same package was awarded in 10/2004 for Cairo North II
Combined Cycle Power Plant.
This project in the framework of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company's
current five year fast-track program 2002-2007 to add 4500 MW to the unified
grid, serving industrial development and satisfying increasing household demand
on electricity.
Talkha is located 150 km north of Cairo, in the zone administered by East Delta
Electricity Production Co. ALSTOM has already supplied to this client 3
x 150 MW Steam Turbine for Damietta Combined Cycle Power Plant and 2 boilers
1000 TpH for Ataka Power Plant. |
