ALSTOM wins Generator Retrofit Contract in Egypt

ALSTOM has been awarded a contract worth around 10 million euros for the rewind
of four generator stators at the Abu Qir Power Plant in Egypt. The order was
placed by the West Delta Electricity Production Company, a major Egyptian
utility.
These four 150 MW units have been in operation for more than 25 years and their
ageing windings have begun to compromise performance. The stators will be
completely rewound increasing the reliability and availability of the
units.
The project, including engineering, manufacturing and site installation, should
be completed in approximately two years.
The Abu Qir Power Plant is located east of Alexandria and provides a total of
900 MW to the grid through four 150 MW units and one of 300 MW, all originally
supplied by ALSTOM. |
