General Overview

The project consists of the
rehabilitation of 32 pumping units of 14.5 QU.M/sec average capacity per unit,
static lift 11.35M.
The location of the project is on El Nasr Canal at South West of the Delta
(Nubareya).
The three stations are pumping the irrigation water to El Nasr Canal which
feeds an approximate agricultural area of 500000 Feddans.
The contract was signed between ALSTOM and the Mechanical and Electrical
Department (MED) of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources on 23rd
October, 1996. The French portion of the contract was financed through the
French-Egyptian protocol of 1994.
The equipment is running in good condition and the project improved the ability
of the irrigation in Nubareya |
